Default How about some of the players released in the NFL today??

Yikes... a whole bunch of very good, or formerly good, guys dumped because of cap issues.

Mike Anderson AND Trevor Pryce in Denver? Unreal.

Sam Adams, Lawyer Milloy, Stephen Davis, Brentson Buckner, Kennard Lang, Tebucky Jones, Duane Starks, Jay Fiedler, Ty Law, Ahmed Plaummer, Johnnie Morton and others as well.

More to come too as some teams are witing for a couple days.

If the CBA doesn't get ratified, you will see SO many huge names get cut. An uncapped 2007 season would mean quite the **** show for the NFL. Dear god this could be a very dark time for the NFL if these guys don't find common ground.

Right now the difference is between 56% of total revenue to the cap compared to what the NFLPA wants, which is 60%.

I'm worried...very worried that a sport I love as much as hockey may end up in a labour dispute.

The Chiefs just cut Shawn Barber, Gary Stills, Decter Mcleon, And Eric Warfield. That still leaves over $11 million over the cap. Will Shields, Jerome Woods, and Greg Wesley could still be cut today. I tried to get on the Chiefs web site but it is slowed right down. It would suck if they had to drop Wesley.

Did I hear correctly that the Pats are cutting loose Adam Vinateri?

I figured Pryce was gone. Big, big salary. A little surprised at Anderson as his is under $3M. Wouldn't be shocked to see him back for a smaller #. They gave Putzier a big deal in the offseason to keep him from going to the Jets and he really didn't perform up to expectations.

It's going to be a very interesting NFL offseason.

Tranny, what's your gut tell you Favre will do?

Well after the developments of today...im not sure.

Yesterday I tell you 100% sure he is done, and with good reason.

Now? If things play out as it looks like they will...the Packers have 23 million to spend under the cap and a whole BUNCH of guys that will be looking for 1 year deals to get them to the uncapped season. I think if GB sees the pieces they want (and desperately need) on defense and the O line...he may come back for one more go.

It would be a shame for him to go out with that debacle of a season the team had. I dont blame him much, if at all, for it either...dude was running for his life almost every down and trying to force things to happen. Hence the ungodly INT numbers.

I know for sure that they did not designate him as their franchise player as they did the last two seasons. Not sure if they're planning to sign him to a different deal, though.
