Stolen Property
I was reading this story on qr77.com and started thinking about the times I've been robbed. I'm almost suprised when the police actually catch some of these scumbags. But when that happens it's usually when the theives screwup and make it really easy for the police.
What have you guys had stolen from you? Myself;
2001 Yamaha WR250F Dirtbike
1986 Chev Camaro

Seven People Arrested In Stolen Property Ring
Feb, 24 2006 - 10:20 AM
CALGARY/AM770CHQR - Calgary police have recovered $130,000 worth of stolen property which they allege was being fenced in exchange for cocaine.
A three-week investigation code-named "Operation Lock Up" has wrapped up with the arrest of seven people.
It's believed most items were stolen during home and business break-ins in the northeast over the past few months.
Cops tracked down a stolen truck and trailer loaded with three stolen hot tubs in front of a whitehorn home.
And, during a search of a northeast Calgary storage unit, police recovered more than 75 stolen items, including jewellery, tools, and electronics.

My wife's engagement ring, a bunch more of her jewellery, a number of unreplaceable momentos (her late father's police badge numbers, a silver heart she was given at her birth).
Still remembering things that were lost, it isn't fun. Its only a couple of months old, so I still get worried when we're not at home.

Someone stole my extension cord I used to plug my truck in. The bad part is, it wouldn't start that morning as well.
That's the only thing so far *knock on wood*

Same type of break in happened when i parked near 18th ave for that Leafs game back in January, they broke that rear triangular window. Luckily nothing precious was in the car, it was a mess of old maps and books. Thank goodness the Garage door opener wasn't taken, only some coins.

October 11, 2001 I had my car stereo stolen and about 10-20 CDs
Apart from that I don't think there was anything really... lucky this far, I wasn't overly ****ed off when it happened as I was stressed with exams and some other stuff going on so when my brother woke me up in a panic and without fear (people don't like to wake me, apparently I throw things) I knew something was up. Came upstairs to see the window smashed.
I was more upset over the lack of help from the police than I was that it was gone. Do you really need to grill me on knowing that my communication book was on the top of the pile on the passanger seat? I said it was take it for fingerprinting, it's your job.
I did get a nifty screwdriver out of the deal (the one the perp used to break my window)... always look on the bright side, lol.

I had some DVDs taken out of my bag at the airport. And when I was at my old apartment, I left my laundry in the dryer and when I went back to pick it up, most of it was gone. So there is someone out there wearing my undergarments and clothing.

I've lost 2 decks, numerous CDs, tools, and over $60 in Canadian Tire money stolen from my car(s).
To add insult to injury, I think they actually used my own tools to steal one of my decks. And because they couldn't get the speakers, they chose to puncture holes in them instead.

1 Copy of "ShadowRun" for SNES. While our house was getting Reno'd, I think one of the workmen jacked it.
I'm still ****ed, I loved that game and at the time, I really wanted to play it again.

Well, I have had my van broken into, and my wifes purse was stolen (we were gone for 3 min). My van was stolen from the condo parking lot, pryed the door, and used a screw driver on the ignition. Had my 3 month old Dakota broken into, and the steering column shattered, as some putz tried to steal that, took 2 bucks and 3 rented dvd's instead of the truck.
Note to thiefs: new vehicles have security features that need a chipped key to start the vehicle. Cost me my deductable, but had to drive a crappy rental for 2 weeks.

A Calgary Flames car flag, and a giganticly huge and thick garbage bag that I used to cover up fire wood stored in an old oil bin.
I've been relatively lucky... oh I've also, like most everybody else, had a few pens stolen from me. (Although that isn't always intentional)
Edit to add: I've also had the license plate stolen from my car... what a pain in the derier that was. Go to the police station to file a a complaing about my plate being stolen, then getting a new plate (luckily it happened a few weeks before I had to renew my registration so I wasn't out extra cash). Then they found the guy who stole my plate. He had the plates on his car when he was pulled over for some traffic violation. I had to go to court to tell the prosecutor what happened. He asked me questions and said that they'll go into court and probably won't need me to go into court but I have to wait, just in case. I waited and waited and waited. I finally looked for the prosecutor and he said, "Oh, I didn't know you would still be here." The guy had missed a previous court date as well to answer for other criminal charges, but pretty much got off free as his only punishment was to pay a small fine for failing to appear in court.
