Default 62 yr old Sith Grandma Gives Birth

I don't know if anyone saw the Sun this morning but the picture they ran of Janise Wulf, 62, and her newborn son was seriously disturbing. Disturbing like Senator Palpatine putting the moves on Anakin.

The pictures are here: http://news.yahoo.com/photos/sm/even...isewulfmom/p:2
(I'm including a link as they are AP copywrited). Photo 2 is what makes my skin crawl.

From an ABC news story:

"Adam already has a 3-year-old brother, Ian, also conceived via IVF. His oldest half-sibling is 40. Wulf lost two other children, one at birth and another in his 30s. Wulf's grandson, Quinten Myers, is just months older than Adam. She said that to cut down on confusion, all the children in the family will simply call each other cousins."

This is seriously wacko. What quack would let this lady try IVF? You'd be 80 when your kid hit 18. I see fit parents in their 20's barely able to keep up with toddler, what is Gramma going to do here, break her hip?

I can see the IRS guys now.
"This lady is claiming Child Tax Credit, AND Social Security?" Bzzzzzzt! I call BS....

Yah... that's just gross....
It looks like she is going to eat him.

Plus.. anyone else notice she kind of looks like a wax statue? Especially in photo 4. No wait.. that's just a look of madness, my mistake.

In other news, thanks to age and gravity, doctors announced that the baby will be able to feed while Janice is standing upright....

I think that the mother is just plain selfish. If the kid is really lucky his mom might live long enough to see him graduate from high school. If she lives to be of an average life expectancy then she will probably die just as he enters adolescence. Perfect timing for him to develop deep seeded abandonment issues right before he starts dating...

The gift of life is not selfish, although I know what you mean. She may die soon, but she gave her son life.

I agree with Fotze. Especially seeing as the kid wasn't conceived naturally. What that means is the grandmother took somebody else's spot in the fertillity clinic; quite possibly a couple in their early 30's.

I know my cousin has been waiting for almost a year for their first appointment.

Very true but this was in the States, and I suspect entry into an IVF program is more about if you have the bucks or not, versus a wait list in Canada. This lady here probably had the bucks and all, being retired and not working.

Yeah, I forgot about that- IHH.

I guess it brings up the quality of life issue. I remember a comedian talking about horses going out to stud, and how he didn't think it was cruel. He said "imagine if you were told you were going to be put up in a mansion, get the finest food money could buy, and every night you would get to sleep with a different beautiful woman. Then after 1 year we are going to shoot you in the head. Most men would ask 'So, what's the catch?'"

The point being I would rather have a short, but awesome life then a long one full of misery.

I've known people who have lost their parents at a young age. It isn't pretty. If you are lonely get yourself a dog, or buy a cat from Petland. But to bring a kid into the world when you know you likely won't be around is irresponsible, IMHO. If I were to bring a kid into the world, I would want him/her to have all the best chances for a good life.
