Agreed! I've always had nothing but outstanding rates and great service when dealing with them. Glad to see that it isn't an anomaly.

Thats cool. I was just commenting on how our insurance was too high last night. I'll check them out.

In the past, my dad has gone had to file a few claims with them. Good quick prompt service from the adjusters.
I referred a co-worker there - him and his g/f saved $2500 a year going to them. Unreal. I have heard though that if you get a bad driving record or have a lot of claims that they'll dump you like yesterday's news.
Note: while Meloche is a part of the TD Group, they should not be confused with TD Insurance, which I think, is separate.

Meloche Monnex has saved our family at $500 per year compared to any other company. Do you have to be a "Professional" to use them?

I use Meloche. I know if you're a former U of C student you get a great deal through the Alumni Association. Just tell Meloche you're a U of C grad (might work for more universities, I don't know) and they cut you an even better deal.
I've only had a car for 2 years, and my insurance (youngish male) is below $500 per year (recent legislation also realllly helped me out).

Supposedly the discount Meloche gives to Engineers is the biggest available anywhere. No one has been able to get even close to the rates they give me. I think I can now get two speeding tickets and cause an accident in the same year and not have a rate increase because I've been with them and had a clean record for long enough.
My car was hit while parked and they provided great service to get me back on the road.
I've never been put on hold, they've always given me pink cards immediately (within an hour of me calling) when I've bought new vehicles, and they are always friendly. I now go through them for both house and travel insurance and its been the same story.

My personal insurance agent is great, but there are some things about Meloche Monnex that does **** me off. Some of their adjusters are ######s. I wrecked my moms car in November (it was an 86 so it wasn't even a bad accident) and the process I went through for that was nuts. The adjuster was calling me at home, but I was at work so I'd call back the next day and she was never in, so I left messages. She NEVER, not once called me back. Then my dad started trying to deal with her because she left a message saying that we either had to submit a claim on the car or fully repair it, which we didn't. My dad kept trying to call her, leaving messages, never getting any calls back. So we called another adjuster, he didn't understand why she was telling us the things she was telling us, fixed up the file and the only time we heard back was when the original adjuster called back to yell at us for giving her **** to her coworker after we got ****ed off.
But other than that...great!! My insurance is lower than all of my friends my age!

yup the best by far! If you belong to pretty much any professional association, Engineers, Doctors, Techs, etc, etc, you get the discount. Most companies wont bother giving you their quotes if they know you are comparing Meloche....which is TD Bank.
I have both House and Auto insurance and have used them for going on 25 years I think....and like the Fotze have recommended hundreds do the same without ever hearing anything negative.

Interesting.
I belong to a prof. organization, and I shopped around when the last renewals came up. The rates they (MM) quoted me were actually a smidgeon higher than what I was getting on a different carrier through my insurance broker. YMMV.
But the lady was pretty pleasant to talk to though.

I find it interesting that you mentioned this company specifically, fotze. Do you remember anything at all where I was talking about the accident I was in back in May of last year? Over 9 months later I still don't even have so much as my deductable back. The insurance companies involved, Aviva-De Jorgs and HC Hopper-ING, haven't even been communicating on the issue. The lady who has stepped in and actually attempted to get the ball rolling works for Meloche Monnex. I'm switching to them as soon as it's possible for me to do so.

Yep, I will also speak up for MM. I switched to them a a few years ago after I graduated from U of C. Saved almost a $1000 per year. I now insure 4 cars between my wife and I, and its about the same as many people pay for 1 car and 1 driver.
Because they were so great with the Auto, I moved the home insurance with them too. My wife needs $2M liability because she drives other people's kids around sometimes. The Customer Service Rep came up with the idea of adding an unbrella policy to my home insurance for $2M which extends to us in our cars - it was cheaper that having the strict $2M liability on each vehicle. He didnt have to suggest it, but he did. Kudos to him.
All my documentation comes on TD Letterhead paper, so I believe that MM and TD Insurance are one in the same.
I have no reservations about referring people to them.

Yup I can say that getting my insurance through MM was one of the best things I could have ever done to save money. Me and my wife pay $1250 for 2 vehicles (both with full collision).
We also have our house insurance with them

I love threads like this. Thanks Fotze. It's always great to hear about companies with good service and good deals. I chose my bank based on a CalPuck recommendation. I'll keep MM in mind when the time comes for insurance.

Yeah, you think they're all fine and dandy now, just wait until you have to make a claim. They're all a bunch of blood-sucking leeches! Trust me, I know. Had 'em...and I've since chosen to pay more and receive even better service elsewhere.

I agree with all the Kudos about MM.
I haven't had any issues with them, and I have made a claim (somebody backed into the door of my car and took off) and everything was very easy.

Ive had half a dozen claims and have never had one issue with them. They even call back to ensure that a file can be closed....excellent company despite their size. I wouldnt consider paying thousands more to change.

I've never had any problems with them either. My wife and I both have our cars insured through them, and our house as well. At this point, I'd not consider changing. They've treated us very well.

Hmmm, according to their website the quote is $50 lower per month than what I have now. May have to give them a call.

interesting...mine's about $700 more than I pay now. And I'm a member of a professional organization...I get the good deal now for going where my parents have all their insurance.

On my new 06 truck I just bought, I got a quote from meloche monnex. I have had insurance through them for about 5 years and the rate was pretty good. However this quote was about 900 bucks higher than through millenium insurance. was a little bit suprised, changed over . Guess they aren't always cheaper.
