Seriously, we're beating the Russians worse than we did the Italians. 7-0 at the end of the first, and the Russians are supposed to be MUCH better than the Italians. But I think Canada is playing at a higher intensity today, and the Russians are not playing with heart. Wow.

The Russian chicks are probably too busy thinking about how to skate with the utmost feminine grace on TV so the North Americans watching will find them attractive enough to get on that phone with the mail-order bride agency. Meanwhile the Canadians are just concerned about becoming national heroines

I can't believe the head coach is actually having to defend her team for scoring too many goals.. I for one am proud of those girls and the fact that they can keep the intesity up and stay sharp after they have clearly won the game.

Well said. I agree completely. I think these women deserve a lot more respect than they are getting. They are a solid team. I don't understand how you can rag on them, or any team, for getting too many goals. It's a competition, a competitive sport. Why should you let up at all? It makes no sense to me.

I gained respect for them when they won the gold 4 years ago with the bias refereeing and playing in enemy territory and the way they held their composure during that game.
