Boo Down with the Trash......

Senators see they are still no where near the level the Thrashers are at this point.

Dissapointing 4-1 loss to the team. They were outshot, Outscored and Outplayed..

still some work to be done In Ottawa it seems.

Rangers 4 - Panthers 2

Rangers went into today's game thinking the Panthers are a confused team with 14 players flying into town for the game there had to be confusion. It was a weird game some players had green gloves some players had black gloves some had Penguin logo on their pants. What a mess.... LOL.

Today the third line did the damage as Darcy Tucker scored two goals.

Rangers win the season series against the Panthers with 3 wins and 1 lose.

Game Stars

1 - Darcy Tucker (RAN)
2 - Dwayne Roloson (RAN)
3 - Janne Niinimaa (RAN)

How Swede it is!!

Longtime friends and countrymen Peter Forsberg center and Markus Naslund right, suited up together for the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

GM Goffie listened to his captain Peter Forsberg and brought in Markus Naslund. The move paid off as Naslund scored twice and added 3 assists, while Forsberg scored once and added 3 assists for a combined 9 points. The Pens battled back from 3-2 down after 1 period to romp the Kings 7-3. Alexei Kovalev and John Madden continued their hot performances with multipoint games. New comer Pavel Kubina also stood tall in the win with 3 assists. The Pens will try to make it 4 straight when they battle the Canucks on Sunday.

Kings get Beat Down in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA - Big loss as the Kings seemed to take a nap after the first period. There did seem to be an "unnatural" connection between the two Swedes, Forsberg and Naslund, which was apparent all night as Pittsburgh's BrokeBack Boys claimed the victory.

Goalie Statistics
Martin Prusek (KIN), 16 saves out of 18 shots
Felix Potvin (KIN), 11 saves out of 16 shots, L, 11-29-7
Jose Theodore (PEN), 23 saves out of 26 shots, W, 32-19-6

Power Play Conversions
KINGS 1 for 8
PENGUINS 2 for 6

Game Stars
1 - Markuss Naslund (PEN)
2 - Alexei Kovalev (PEN)
3 - Peter Forsberg (PEN)

New Look Team Runs Wild

What's that in the Twin cities?

Why it looks like the Wild have found an offense.

For much of the season Minnesota has struggled scoring goals ultimately leading to the CPHL's biggest trade of the year with the Panthers. The new look Wild debuted on Friday and instantly found chemistry.

A 9-1 win with balanced scoring, good special teams and goals goals goals! Yes indeed that is a nice start.

Yet it was the holdovers from the old team that were the games stars. Jason Spezza with 5 points, Daniel Sedin and Mats Sundin with 4 assists each and Alex Frolov with 2 goals and 3 points led the way.

But the newcomers also got into the action. Iginla picked up 2 goals and 3 points, and Jason Doig and Matthias Ohlund both notched goals.

Indeed a very nice start - but not the question becomes - can the Wild finally do it for an extended stretch?

Well whaddya think of the Stars now Rink? Just what the Blues needed eh? Sandy McCarthy was the unlikely 1st star of the game tonight as the Stars move to 3 points out of the basement . Oh well, a few wins here and there are good for team morale.

HAWKS WIN!

Daniel Alfredsson played like the super star he is against the Bluejackets. Fred opened the scoring at 4:27 of the first period to give the Hawks the lead they would not relinquish.

Johan Franzen and the 3rd line made 2-0. But the real star in the game tonight is #1 netminder John Grahame.

John Grahame (HAW), 19 saves out of 20 shots,

Game Stars
1 - John Grahame (HAW)
2 - Johan Franzen (HAW)
3 - Jaromir Jagr (HAW)
