Default Yak In Car

So last Saturday, in an attempt to make a long story short here, I show up at Outlaws, my buddy gets punched, falls and cracks his head open, PS - he's plastered. I drive him and his fiancee to Rockyview. En route, I pullover so he can puke. He opens the door, but misses the road.

Here's the reason for the post. Against all my efforts, my car still has a hint of puke smell kicking around in the interior. Does anyone have any tips to get rid of the smell? I thought I got it all, but I am starting to think that some got into the slot that the seatbelt comes out of. I don't want to have to pull my car apart to find puke, but I need to get rid of the smell.

Share your car cleaning stories please.

Take it to a professional cleaner.
Have friend pay for costs to clean.

hmmm I'm usually the one that does the puking and not clean it. I would think some specialty car cleaner would do the trick. I'd call up a car dealership and ask what they use to clean used cars, or better yet a rental agency. They always have the "new car smell" despite God know what was done to them and in them.

Hope that helps... you could always take a dump in the back seat, I can gaurantee it'd no longer smell like puke!

it's not his fault, he was drunk. He tried to puke out the car and missed... that's like trying to do chemistry, failing, and getting the Nobel Prize anyway

Once in my wild years...er year, I was exceedingly inhebriated (actually many times, but I'm referring to one specific incident). I was feeling a little ill and told my friend so. He suggested that I puke out the window. I thought that it was a good idea, so I rolled up the window and puked. Yes you read that correctly, I rolled up the window and puked. It seems that the window was already rolled down and I was too wasted to realize that I was rolling it back up.

He dropped me off and went home (a block away) and decided that he couldn't wait until morning for me to clean it and he did it himself. I think he used soap water and then used ginger ale to soak it all up. He probably did something else too but I don't know.

Another time, when I was 9 and my parents were taking me to my hockey game, I puked in the back seat as we pulled up at the arena. I remember my mom using ginger ale to clean that up too.

These guys do a pretty nice job, looks like the Pack #2 will do for you. They might charge extra if you still have vomit in the car though.

A super clean is between 70-100 buckaronies...a real super duper clean can be 200 smackers for fine detailing. How rich is your friend?

Sell it and buy a new vehicle, my one and only experience with this has scared me for life. However it was a work vehicle and for the 4 years after THE EVENT (Also had been professionally cleaned) I swear to God I could still smell THAT smell

had a rental car in the states where you could still see the remnants of puke in one of the vents in the front seat. The smell was also still there.

The million dollar question is: WHO would want to buy a car that smells like vomit?

Just do the Seinfeld and find a shady looking guy in a questionable neighbourhood, make eye contact with him. Leave the window wide open, lock the doors, and make sure the shadey guy see's you "accidentally" drop your keys in the car. Walk away and hope this person drives it into the river, and report it stolen the next morning.

More or less I was kidding

The only people that could smell the vomit smell after the cleaning were those that had been in there, that knew the original smell of cabbage rolls and perogies. No one else could figure out what we were smelling.

Sorry, but when your drink your puke is one of those things that you are responsible for. Just because he didn't mean to puke in the car it doesn't mean that he didn't puke in the car. His vomit = his responsibility even if it includes cleaning charges.

I had food poisoning once and it started to really get me in the morning at my office so I finally couldn't take it anymore and started to drive home . . . . . just about made it too.

Long story short . . . . I'm wearing a suit and projectile vomit all over my dash, steering wheel and myself.

One gigantic stinking mess.

I get home, shower, get changed and, although still well under the weather (what a great weight loss program for three days!!!), I go out and look over my vehicle and immediately decide I will pay any amount of money to other people to clean this mess up.

I phone this one vehicle cleaning place and describe in clinical detail what happened . . . . they say they wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole but send me to these other guys who they say "will do anything."

And they did . . . . that little Mazda truck ended up smelling like anti-septic for a couple of years afterwards.

Love to tell you the name of the place but that was about 10 years ago and I've forgotten . . . . it was down by Rent-A-Wreck in the northwest.

But they cleaned that up for $150 and I considered that fantastically cheap considering the alternative of me doing it myself.

If I were you, I'd just start dialling.

I'm sure that drunk drivers who have been charged with vehicular manslaughter will take comfort in that.

I've heard these guys do a good job, but can't assure you their willingness to clean up spew. I've been told they do a $99 package.

The Wolf: Now boys, listen up. We're going to a place called Monster Joe's Truck and Tow. I'll drive the tainted car. Jules, you ride with me. Vincent, you follow in my Acura. We run across the path of any John Q. Laws, nobody does a fata thing unless I do it first. What did I just say?
Jules: Nobody does a fata thing unless...
The Wolf: Unless what?
Jules: Unless you do it first.
The Wolf: Spoken like a true prodigy. How about you, Lash LaRue? Can you keep your spurs from jingling and jangling?
Vincent: Look, Mr. Wolf, my gun went off, I don't know why, and now you're helping us out of the situation. I'm cool with it, all right?
The Wolf: Fair enough. Now I drive real fata fast, so keep up. I get my car back any differently than when I gave it, Monster Joe's gonna be disposing of two bodies.

Heh heh... Reminds me of a funny little episode involving alcohol, young people and a car... My buddy took a bunch of us to (what was it... 3 cheers?) some dive, and we drank like fish.

Well, amongst this party of five was a little gal that just never saw Canada properly. My buddy's cousin was in town from Phillipines.

So we got good and loaded at the bar and on the way home (sober driver...), the newb starts convulsing.
As I'm warning the driver to pull over, she blows chunks. Her attempt to contain it with her hand only resulted in riccochet action.
Said chunks were deflected off her hand, onto the roof and down upon the driver (back seat to front).

However he got the smell out, I can only guess.
