CalgaryPuck GHL Ball Hockey Team For Winter - Need Input for Tryout Date
A couple of us tried to start a GHL ball hockey team for the Fall season but we came up short on players.
So we're going to start this sign up sheet earlier this time.
We're looking for 3 forward lines, 2 defensive pairings, and a goaltender. We could probably get away with 2 forward lines, but any less than that and we're going to get a bunch of really tired people out there.
Details for the league will come, currently they are still in season so we can't sign up for anything yet. I'll keep this updated for once I can start getting some details. What I do know is that we play on Sundays only.
If you're interested in playing, post your playing experience and preferred playing position.
Current List:
LGA - Defense
AC - Forward/Defense/Moustache Enthusiast
J-bo - Forward/Ovechkin Snipe Show
Jordan- Forward

Finally!
I'll sign up as a forward, but can easily switch to D if need be for whatever reason.

Is this played at the Barracks or in a school gym?
I can't remember but I'll get back to you guys when I know my final work schedule. I'm starting to grow frustrated with Superleagues.

I know the GHL used to play out of the Barracks, and I know for sure that they don't play out of school gyms (that's the CSSC). Not sure if they have other locations other than the Barracks though.

I'm assuming this is for the Men's league.
Looks like this season is played at Cardel Place and YWCA.
GHL lost the barracks this season.

Count me in for sure. Don't really care which position (although I have been playing more of a winger lately)
Im almost 100% Jordan can play too, but he is on vacation Nov. 29 to Dec 15ish...will he miss much? I'll talk to him tonight.
I also have another two guys that would likely play...but I will hold off on talking to them until we know how many guys from CP want to play.

Do you guys still do the pickup games in Signal Hill? I'm in town for a couple weeks in Dec/Jan...and would love to play again.

We actually have not played ball hockey since Sept, but in the next week or so I will be organizing a pickup ice hockey game. Just keep a lookout for the thread for dates/times.

Just talked to Jordan and he said he is in and would like to play a wing position. Im sure he wouldn't mind doing a backup goalie role a couple games if needed.

If it's in and around the barracks I could be interested. I'd probably be best at right wing, but really don't care. I haven't played for years but I'm guessing I can still run pretty fast

Too bad, those ball hockey games were great. I actually prefer the ball hockey to the ice, as my skating is embarrassingly bad. I bring shame upon my family.

Hey guys I'm going to have to know the schedule a little more before I make a decision, but can probably sign up as a sub for now.

Awesome, thanks for the information. Their sites pretty awful to navigate, seems anytime they are in season they just take everything down instead of keeping the information up.

I'm not totally sure on the cost, but it's the cheapest of the rec ball hockey leagues. I'll let you know more information once I find it.

I'd be in, probably (just pending on the cost/times). I'm not the best player in the world, but I am looking for something a bit more competitive than CSSC. I like to be a crash the net forward (I don't have moves, but I get garbage goals like nobody's business, and I am 6'4 so I can screen goalies well). If you don't like my lack of offensive finesse, I could do well at D, too.

I can probably spare if needed. According to superleagues 52games played, 47 goals and 39 assists.

I can vouch for this. These guys are Hoobnoxious but at the same time Hoobmazing. You can easily identify one of these guys by their Purple Hoobttire, or the fact that they put Hoob in front of everything they say
Okay, I Hoobmit, im part of Hoob Nation too. You guys will have fun playing against us
Hoob!
