Snow in Phoenix and Georgia hits 100!!

The Atlanta Thrashers were finally able to give Patrick Lalime a rest today after Garth Snow came back from an extended trip on the IR. Snow played well enough to earn the Thrashers their 100th point on the year making the Georgia team the first to hit the century mark in the CPHL.
Four different players chipped in with markers on the day as Scott Niedermeyer, Brendan Shanahan, Big Viktor Kozlov and Captain Craig Conroy assisted in swamping the dogs of the desert.
Rumors have the Thrashers Scott niedermayer opting for minor knee surgery hoping to be healed and available for the Thrashers playoff run.

Goalie Statistics Andrew Raycroft (COY), 17 saves out of 21 shots, L, 16-19-7
Garth Snow (THR), 19 saves out of 20 shots, W, 7-4-0

Power Play Conversions
COYOTES 0 for 2
THRASHERS 1 for 8

Game Stars
1 - Brendan Shanahan (THR)
2 - Scott Niedermayer (THR)
3 - Garth Snow (THR)

Jets have went into the tank. Moves must be made, all players except DiPietro are now available, not looking to rebuild, looking for fair trades.

Thornton makes and Impact in his first game.

Fans of the Senators got a glimpse of like with Joe Thornton.
Joe scored once his 30th of the year, setup 2 others and was named the games 1st star. he helped revitalize the PP as we went 3-6.

Other scorers were Joe Sakic with his 30th, Odelein with his 4th and wilson got his 9th.

Turco gets his 30th win of the year as well.. Lots of 30's in this game

Next up a visit from the Mighty Thrash...

BTW, no one should feel the need to point out the fact that Roman Chechmanek stoned the Wild mere hours after the Wild GM once again slammed him. The Wild are well aware of the fact that we have offended the sim gods and can only pray for their forgiveness.

In Cheese's name. Amen.

Wild Lose, Kings Lose, Jets Lose, Yotes Lose and...............................

THE WINGS WIN!

After todays games there is now four teams tied for the 4th through 7th spot in the Howe. The newest additions to the Detroit club all had a impact. Martin Lapointe and Tyler Arnason both lighting the lamp while Ruslan Salei had a helper and several good body checks. After watching Sean Burke again crap the bed in the last game vs the Hawks, Goalie of the week Johan Hedberg backstopped his team to another win stopping 25 shots. Next up is a tilt Friday night vs former Wing Daymond Lankow and the Carolina Hurricanes.

See what happens when you **** on Chechmaniac's cornflakes? The guy is a competitor...and a large part of the Shark's recent respectability!

Sharks Tame Wild!
In a rather one-sided game that featured the Sharks being outshot 33-16 the Wild were cast aside like yesterdays dirty laundry. The almost flawless display of goalkeeping by the Chechmaniac will be used at countless hockey schools throughout North America and Europe as an example of how to properly defend the goal from both technial and artistic standpoints!

The Sharks anemic ofense was enough on this night as they were able to put 2 goals past Hasek as he forgot to take his "No-Doze" and fell asleep due to the lack of activity in his end. The Sharks played a near flawless trap tonight and while it was less than stellar entertainment the ends justified the means (and frankly with only 17 in attendance nobody could tell if the "crowd" was awake or not!).

The goals were scored by Wiemer and Vrana for the good guys and by Michalek for the evenings villians...

Game Stars
1 - Roman Cechmanek (SHA)
2 - Jason Wiemer (SHA)
3 - Petr Vrana (SHA)

Chechmaniac had this to say after the game,
"Wild GM Jerkyhernia made this one personal. I hope he learned his lesson: NEVER question my ability. I am a top-tier goalie in this league and I deserve some respect. Slam me and I will slam the door on your team- count on it!"

Just as an interesting note...

Since the Sharks acquired the Cechmaniac they have gone 12-14-1-2. They were a scary 12-23-4-4 before the deal was closed...What a difference a REAL keeper makes, huh?

With Johansson and Fata out of the top-six -- Coyotes lose third game in a row

Oddly enough.
