Default Harper inherits a thriving Canada: Washington Post

The view from the other side . . . . the Washington Post today looks at the Canada that Stephen Harper is stepping into . . .

The conservative Canadian government to be sworn in Monday will take the reins of a country that is economically flush, newly confident and ready to reap the benefits of one of the largest supplies of oil in the world.

Stephen Harper, 46, will become prime minister of the thriving country as it shows signs of continuing success and follows a path determinedly different from that of its southern neighbor.
