Default Good News for AD Fans?

http://the-op.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2356

ANDERSON: Well, is that in the works, moving to, possibly, another network, another home?

GRAZER: It`s -- yes. It`s in the works. I`m hoping it`s in the works.

ANDERSON: What can you tell us about that?

GRAZER: I can`t tell you anything other than I`m hoping it works out in the way that we want it to. But I`m optimistic, Brooke.

Well Brian Grazer is a very powerful man in Hollywood, it wouldn't shock me in the list to see it appear on another Network at some point.

I beleive it's on Fox tonight, don't know if it's a new one or not.

Good to hear that. I really think it's going to get picked up.

Don't tease me!!!

I am not going to get excited about this until I know it's actually happening and that it is going to a network that I actually get!

Great (potential) news!

I'd love to see how they would work it in to the show .

Of course there would still be the matter of getting people to watch. . . .

Well, that looks somewhat hopeful.

A new episode yesterday and news that it might actually make it to another station. A good day for Arrested Development fans.

More good news?

http://the-op.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2454

From Today's Variety (Wed.)

Fox still hasn't officially canceled "Arrested Development," but if it does, other networks are interested in the show.
Both ABC and Showtime have had conversations with 20th Century Fox TV and indicated they're open to making a deal for new episodes of the critically beloved, Emmy-winning comedy from creator Mitch Hurwitz. No formal negotiations have taken place, and there are still numerous hurdles that might prevent such a move -- including the show's hefty pricetag.

That said, those familiar with the talks described them as serious, with Showtime said to be in particularly hot pursuit of the ratings-challenged laffer, now on life support at Fox.

David Cross summed it up rather nicely in this video:

Warning: he has a tendency to swear.

Man, for whatever reason, I was never able to get into this show, just wasn't really my thing. Read all the critical acclaim it received, and thought, man, I just gotta check it out, but nothing for me.

A common reaction. Try watching the first season from the start on DVD. Eventually a light goes on and it all makes sense, and you think this is the funniest tv show ever. There are jokes within jokes within jokes.

The lack of a laugh track seems off-putting for many.

I've been a huge fan of this show since the pilot, but I have to admit that the last handfull of episodes have been quite sub-par IMO.

No more than one or two laughs in each.

I think the same thing happened to Scrubs. That show was hillarious.

I'm not a fan of laugh tracks at all - they're obviously fake and watching a show with one feels a bit insulting. If you need to be prompted every time there's a joke, you don't get the jokes anyway, so what's the point?

You have to be beat with a pillowcase full of doorknobs, then you'll get it!

GREAT NEWS, AD has to continue. Funniest show on TV (maybe tied with Family Guy but different humor).

Reviving this thread with more promising news:

Speaking to reporters Thursday (Jan. 19) at the Television Critics Association press tour, Showtime Entertainment president Robert Greenblatt acknowledged that his network and 20th Century Fox TV, which produces "Arrested," have been discussing the show. (ABC has reportedly expressed interest as well.)

"[Picking up 'Arrested'] at a point in time where we're having a good deal of success both critically and commercially makes a really big statement for us," Showtime Chairman and CEO Matthew Blank says. There's a lot of things we could be doing right now. But for me, the prospects of having 'Arrested Development' and [recent Golden Globe honoree] 'Weeds' on this network, you know, at the same time are quite remarkable."
