When Corgan wrote the lyrics to Siamese Dream he was contemplating suicide, so lyrics like " the killer in me" shouldn't come as a surprise.
I've always had him pegged as one of the most innovative artists and talented lyricists of his generation.
And troutman you are right, he recorded every instrument on many of the albums, except for the Drums.
Corgan's biggest problem with the general public has been that he feels the need to do something completely different on each album, and most people like consistency.
The pumpkins are probably one of the most polar bands of 90s...Those who love them love them a lot, and those who don't hate it (for the most part).
Corgan brought a lot of that on himself with his ego, which I think is too bad because IMO there is something special in his music.
