Default Ongoing Things You Bought Which Suck and you Regret

To piggyback off that other thread.
The Subaru I bought last fall. It was a spite buy because I went to Heninger Toyota to look at vehicles and wanted to test drive a Tacoma, they asked for a $1500 deposit to test drive, I told the guy to beat it. Look across the street at the Subaru place and asked the first salesman what is the car I can drive off the lot same day, so I drove it and bought it.

Hate it, like driving a golf cart, my wife even hates driving it and she def does not care about cars.

I probably have a thousand other terrible purchases.

Outdoor furniture. Wife insisted we buy a hanging egg chair for my daughter. She's sat in it twice. Fire pit has never been used. Fire table used maybe a half dozen times. The furniture set is nice and we use it but jesus we spent a lot of money for what is essentially decorations.

Our hot tub. Used it for over a year when first purchased then left for dead. It’s just sitting there now falling apart.

If the word “acquired” replaced “bought” I wonder how many would say their wife or husband.

Did you acquire your wife in a trade?

Our Ikea bed. I'm not too good for Ikea, and our house is full of it, but it's particle board with veneer on it, and I still curse myself for not just ponying up for solid wood so I'd never buy a bed again.

These nasty ass ribs I bought from Superstore a year ago. I bought 2 on sale for about $5 each. Ate one box and it's the slimiest most disgusting excuse for food that I have ever eaten. I have another box in the freezer I will never touch. I don't want to even give it away to someone, lest they think it's some kind of prank for passing it off to them. It's technically still at the best before date and unopened, so throwing it away seems like a dick move as well. I'm stuck with it.

Spoiler!

Lol! The ever-present 'Badge of Shame' every time you open the freezer!!

Fire table is a good one. Used it twice, I think. Genuinely terrible.

I bought a bike holder and then realized that there was nowhere that it would fit in the garage.

It's crazy how many people regret buying a hot tub (including me), and yet there are still about 20 dealers in Calgary.

People throw out $5 worth of fruit and veg every week without thinking twice. Make today the day. Reclaim that freezer space.

This like $800 turntable so my wife could play her vinyl records over modern speakers, etc.

That got used for...a couple of weeks. Now its basically a coffee table.

the only regret recently was the "spring compression tool" i got off amazon for removing the springs in my truck doors when i replaced the door pins & bushings.
i was eventually able to get the springs out with it, but it was such thin metal it wasn't strong enough to hold it's shape when attempting to compress the door spring.
it made a 30 second spring removal job into 45 minute jobs.
it had literally thousands of positive reviews so i figured it would be fine... but apparently not
the only positive was it wasn't expensive at all - but still annoying

The best part about this thread is that there are going to be a pile of “we bought this for my wife…” items.

I bought 400 ostriches last week, they were having a sale and I couldn’t pass up the deal.

A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack.
