Icon59 Connor Ingram ($800k retained) to the Oilers for future considerations

cleared waivers a few days ago, so they can keep him in the AHL for now

Surely McDavid will stay now, right?

Well, that's that. Worst surprise ever. What's the difference between Skinner and Ingram? Potential upside. Skinner is what he is now, Ingram gives them hope. Hope is a dangerous tool.

Watch em claim Kuznetsov too.

Surprised Mammoth are retaining when the return is just future considerations. Guess they really didn't want to pay Ingram's full salary

Fun fact: Ingram is a year and a half older than Skinner.

This is their upgrade in net? This is all they could muster to improve a weakness that has hampered them for 2 seasons now?

Yikes.....

And not to make light, but doesn't Ingram have known alcohol and depression issues?

Thoughts and prayers with Connor Ingram and the Ingram family. These are the days you have nightmares about, hoping it never becomes a reality.

No surprise here as the Oilers without McDavid signed are likely in a panic mode. I imagine Pickard will be the odd man out. Hope for his sake that Ingram can handle being scapegoated.

For a player who's struggled with mental health. Playing goal for the Oilers is about the harshest test you can take. No matter how well he plays, eventually he will be the scapegoat that they come after.

I wish the best for Ingram the person...not so much for the Oilers.

Calvin Pickard to suddenly have a bad knee and become assistant goaltending coach?

Buy low trade. If he flops he flops, but he can very well sprout with the new opportunity. I think it's a decent deal by Edmonton. It's not going to be much of a difference between what they already have between the pipes, but this is the best they can do with the cap constraints they have.

Pretty garden variety 3rd stringer, nearing 30 low career save percentage and no onr in the league wanted him on waivers.

Kind of positive in that it confirms hart is unlikely to sign there, would have been stomach turning and he actually does have some upside on the ice

I think that's a good pickup for the Oilers. I don't really see any risk here.

It's interesting that this news comes out right after Carter Hart decides to play for VGK this season. I bet he was the Oilers' number 1 target.

The last goalie on the market is Samsonov. He actually put up Vladar level numbers, so it's strange he didn't find a landing spot.
