Wedgewood has been pretty good to start, so they must be looking to dump Georgiev. Maybe clear a little bit of cap space, too

Solid trade for the Avs. Live in San Jose and Blackwood has been a good goalie on a terrible Sharks defense. He's an upgrade for them IMO. Sharks team member mentioned there were 4-5 teams calling about him and 2-3 offers were on the table.

RIP to all those fantasy owners who picked up Georgiev a year or two ago thinking he was going to rack up a bunch of wins with the Avs. He fell, and he fell fast.

Yeah I've watched a few games and Blackwood has stood out. I think this is a pretty decent upgrade for the Avs. Probably a good Vladar comparable, Vladar might be slightly better... but Blackwood has more starts over his career and might be capable of playing more games.

Georgiev will put up worse numbers on the Sharks than Blackwood did IMO. Blackwood I think will do great in Colorado.
Without derailing the thread, Sharks also have offers already on the table for Mikael Granlund but want to maximize their return by waiting closer to the deadline. It will be a 1st + a player/prospect for Granlund.
