I always thought that Pre-dator was a missed advertising opportunity.
You would work up the courage to ask a girl out.
Then call up the Pre-dator service, where a incredibly fit, millionaire hockey player in his 20s would then pre-date the girl, to make sure that the 'real' date would eventually go well.
The commercials write themselves.
