Dont see Potter as a center, would like to package 54 and 90 to move up to the late 30's to grab Ryabkin or McKinney

Ryabkin is pretty high on Bader's list

Theo Stockselius would be interesting at #54. Could be a middle six centre and has some size.

Round two is going to be interesting.
Gastrin probably gone. Mckinney probably gone. Spence one if my least favourites but probably gone.
Moore is interesting top end talent bottom end attitude. Ryabkin same thing.
Nilson? Guy is talented but a twig at 154 lbs. he would have to put on 10 pounds to be considered skinny.
Fiddler probably gone.
Cameron schmidt? Tiny but high end skater huge questions about size. Boom or bust pick but probably not as shaky as potter was.
So who could be there?
My guess we have our choice between Wang, Murtagh, vansaghi, nilson.
Personally would love to grab vansaghi. He would be our klapka pick in this draft. Big winger at 6.2 and already 215, plays a pro game already and shows these flashes of high end skill.
The big Wang? Also a bit of a unknown. 6.6 and 210 already with sublime skating and not just for the size and only started hockey a few years ago.
Prokhorov at 6.6 and 218 is drawing a lot more interest in the last month or two.
Murtagh looks like he is probably a winger certainly wiuldnt be unhappy.
Would love to get another second and walk out with Wang and Vansaghi.

The Flames only have so many contract slots and spots in camp. They made alot of picks last year, I hope they dont trade down to aquire extra picks.

At the moment, according to Capwages, the Flames have only 30 players under contract plus 8 RFAs. Any player drafted today, unless over-age, won't have to be signed for two more years. I wouldn't worry about running out of slots or spots.

I’m not huge on Ryabkin, but I’d take a swing at 54

Nilson isn't 154lbs anymore, he also plays a physical game.
Smart, young RS center that skates very well, I hope Conny swings a deal to move up to get him, highly doubt he lasts to 54.

Here's hoping they find Gaudreau 2.0 in one of these later rounds

I would LOVE for the Flames to somehow move up and take Wang. The kid is a beast and a amazing skater. I see him as the perfect partner for Parekh in the future.

Hopefully Conny will pick up some beef to compliment our smaller picks.

Wheeler had us as a winner from day 1, so more of that day 2 please. He ranks teams as winners, overtime winners, overtime losers and losers. Oilers weren't listed in the losers but we all know the truth.
Based on sandman's response to a question I asked in the draft thread, (who has dropped in the rankings perhaps undeservedly this year) I'll be keeping an eye out for these players today (snippets courtesy of Sandman):
- RW Cam Schmidt (Sandman is more of a fan of Schmidt than of an another diminutive player, Ben Kindel).
-D Carson Cameron doesn't get the respect he deserves, playing for the lowly Peterborough Petes.
-D Owen Conrad put up 29 points in just 59 games in his D-minus-1 year, but only managed 26 in 64 this season.
-C Jimmy Lombardi. Only 45 points in 63 games, but he had 18 in his last 18. Good playmaking skill, and hockey sense.
-C Tommy Lafreniere also isn't getting the proper respect. Also 6'0", he put up 56 points in 68 games for a poor Kamloops squad.
-C Owen Martin (6'0",183lbs) He's a bit of a good at everything, but not elite in any area type.
My own add:
-LW Phillipe veilleux. Small (I know) LH (I know) winger who dropped 87 points in 64 in the Q this year. I love an underdog.

I'm hoping Conny can trade up to grab Zharovsky.

Did you want them to reach for a different player just to ensure they were a RHS?
Honestly when it comes to forwards I'm not sure it matters much. Of the Panthers team this past playoff the only RH guy they had in their top 9 was Reinhart.
Not something to be worried about at the draft IMO

Two solid picks in Round 1... I would be all for packaging picks to move up and try to get one of the top guys still remaining (Ryabkin, or whoever they prefer)
In a thin draft like this, 2 solid prospects is great, three would be fantastic
