The man is 82, about the same age as my mom who, while healthy and relatively with it, makes poor decisions that we have to reverse all the time now.

Lou is a terrible GM, has no business running an NHL team in 2025. However, he's a part of the old boys club, so if he wants a job, I'm sure someone will hire him.

Not really surprising to be honest.

Have been pretty mediocre the last 4 seasons, at a time where he was likely selling the team as a contender because they don't have a great prospect pool either and are kind of stuck in the middle.

He's also 82 years old and at some point you have to plan for the future of your organization.

Wonder if they turf son Chris, too, who runs Bridgeport, their AHL farm team, who finished last in the AHL this season by 19 points.

Rutherford in vancouver must be up there too.

Guessing neither of them are hurting for cash. My question is why the hell would you want to be working when you are 82?

Rutherford is a spry 76. Compared to both Lou and Harrison Ford's 82.

If you love what you do and you're still up to it, why not?

The problem is when you think you're still up to it, but you're not because your mind has been gradually declining and you never noticed, because what do you know, your mind has been gradually declining.

Rutherford comes off as having zero empathy in every interview I’ve seen with him.

I doubt that's an age-related thing. Hasn't he always been that way?
