Good luck to one of Anaheim, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, New York or Pittsburgh

Super weird as the team held an option for next year they could easily have exercised.

He won a division title with that sad roster last year.

I can't see a new coach doing any better without major roster moves.

I always thought that Tocchet was probably a good coach, but I also can't help but think culture problems that evolve like the one they experienced, it often a reflection of the coach. Like when players get pissy with each other, it's often because the coach divides them. Or when teams are too laid back and the country club attitude emerges, it's because the coach reflects that attitude.

Maybe I am over simplifying or not giving the players enough credit.

So surprised. Who could have seen this coming?

Next you're gonna telle Brock Boeser has signed with another team. Or that Quinn Hughes is likely gone next.

Big shocking news.

Sarcasm aside. The Nucks have really effed themselves with a bazooka in the face. I can believe they let last season's toxicity fester for so long instead of being proactive. From all fronts in that organization they failed.

I think the poison might sit a little higher up in that organization.

- Demko injury management
- Pettersson Contract (threaten to trade him before deadline before giving him $11M???)
- Being frustrated that Pettersson mentioned his knee injury
- Miller vs. Pettersson Drama
- Boeser contract handling and saying thing publicly
- Hughes contract handling and saying publicly that he wants to play with his brothers
- Tocchet contract management

Lots of weird decisions in the last 18 months in that organization.

2 seasons...I do wonder if there would be discussions around Hischier for Hughes in the offseason - captain for captain.

Could be they knew he wouldn't be there willingly.
