Flames recall Zayne Parekh
Time for a new thread. Zayne Parekh is now eligible to go pro at any time with Saginaw losing 6-3 today. He finished the series against Erie with nine points in five games.
Here's what Friedman had to say about the situation today:
https://twitter.com/user/status/1908684035897123109
Parekh went thermonuclear in the second half of the season, racking up 75 points in 32 games after being left off Team Canada at the WJC. Does he step right in? Sit until they're eliminated/clinch? Or go to the AHL? Discuss ...

I'm so excited.
No doubt there will be growing pains and he will make a lot of risky plays that lead to goals against... but his ability to walk the line, attack the net, and sneak passes and shots through from the point that he has no business making is going to be franchise changing.

Someone also needs to print a big poster of Dave Cameron's head and put it in the dressing room.
Also this is why he shouldn't go back to the OHL next year. Out in the 1st round with nothing to prove will only bring him down.

Some of the best defenceman and the best in the league turn it over they get beat in the defensive end, but what they do the the rest of the time is spectacular.
Let him play his game and figure it out.

What are the rules on this?
He's under contract, so he should be able to come to the Flames and play out the rest of the season (like Bennett did 10 years ago). I believe he could also be sent to the Wranglers and play out the rest of their season and playoffs (like Honzek did last year).
I believe it's one or the other, so he couldn't play for the Flames until they are done and then go to the Wranglers... Is that right?

Yep. Stick him with someone defensively minded and let him learn. He's so intelligent that he'll learn what works and what doesn't quickly, and his partner can cover the odd mistake here and there.

He can play for the Flames. Not the Wranglers.
Next season, he can go back to OHL or make the Flames. No Wranglers.

Why can’t the rules be simple for going to the AHL. Never know who can or can’t go.

As I understand it there's nothing preventing Parekh from being assigned to the Wranglers to finish this season now that Saginaw is done.

He should absolutely be brought up and put in the lineup. No question. Even just for the fans.

He can now play in the pro ranks for the whole Flames organization now that Saginaw's season is over, next year he would have to play on the Flames or return though.
