Maybe Tortorella makes a stop in Buffalo? They can use some harsh structure.

in his last post-game press conference he admitted he didn't know how to coach the team under its current circumstances. Basically told the Flyers to fire him

It's almost like he'd rather get paid to not work.

I wonder if he told Briere to get the bleep out of here. Just like he did to Brooksie, the sport journalist. That was hilarious.

Messaging is a little fishy. Flyers release says Briere relieved him of duties. But Friedman and Saravelli have strange tweets. Saravelli says he fired himself and Friedman who is careful with what he says says Torts stepped down.

Truculent!
One of the most overrated coaches in the NHL in the last decade. Has done squat with any team he's had for a long while.

I'm sure he's relieved.

I have a lot of respect for Torts.
He instills a culture of hard work and teamwork. He ensures all players pull in the same direction. He is a man of principle and strong values.
But he has a shelf life.
He reminds me so much of Sutter.
Personally, I think he is best with veteran teams that need a push to get over the edge and be consistent. Rangers fit this bill.

He was always the wrong coach for the phase of that organization's life cycle.

He said he didn't know how and didn't want to learn. It was epic.

Agree. I thought there was talk that he would eventually assume an assistant managerial role after getting some coaching structure in place.
