Ken's amazing streak may have ended on a show taped Tuesday.

Well according to that article his streak ends at $2.5 M and he's had $1.3sometthing now...that means he's just over halfway. Its taken him 42 games to get this far, so all else being equal he should go 80 games. Still a long way off. And that's if this article is even true.

Stupid Canoe. They totally ruined my day. Why would they put something like that on their front page. I'm not gonna watch anymore

There's no guarantee the article is true. They admit in the article it may not even be true.

To me, this makes it more interesting. So if true, we know that Ken has been beaten, but we don't know what episode. How will he lose? Who will beat him? Eh, it's kinda dull at the best of times, but if I found myself infront of the TV, I'd probably watch.

It's basically not possible not to hear bout it ... unless you live in a cave

It will probably be on the news tonite

From what I read he quits/retires after 75 games and over 2.5 in coin.

EDIT - Source CNN
"A report posted Wednesday on TV Week's Web site said the brainy software engineer lost in a show taped Tuesday, walking away after his 75th straight game with about $2.5 million overall in cash and prizes. The magazine cited unidentified sources and said the show would air later this fall."

Well the only way I could see him lose is if they had an entire game with nothing but satanic questions. The guy seems to know everything else like the back of his hand. Granted with 2.5 million and 75 episodes he may have decided he had enough and sat there and smiled the whole game without even trying (if this is true). Still what an amazing feat he's already accomplished.

What I think they ment to say was that he walked away with that money, not actually meaning he walked away from the show, or gave up.

yeah, I'm pretty sure the guy loses. Think about it. I don't care who you are, would you give up a job that pays 10-30 G's a day? Not bloody likely.

... especially when it's not really earning 10-30k a day, because they film five episodes a day. It's earning 50-150k in one day for about nine days, and then taking the rest of the season off.

Anybody know what Alex Trebeck's salary is? I'd be curious to know how they compare.

Hey does Ken bring 5 changes of clothes for the 1 day of filming? It would be funny if he wore the same clothes over and over again.

Did anyone watch last nites show? Who the hell knows a 28 letter word??? I guess Ken since he just spouted it off right away. Thats longer than the alphabet and it wasn't supercalfiafjefoijaxieiosijsfljelejflej.

I do.

I'm guessing that's what the word was.

They do, actually.

There was a guy from Calgary on a few months ago and I got an e-mail where he describes his experience (such as button timing, stuff you don't see behind the scenes, bringing a change in clothes, Trebek's doesn't talk to the contestant much...stuff like that). He lost to Ken

wow you should be on jeapordy, but you'd lose because you can't push the button as fast as Ken. hehehe. Talk about a total advantage. He's had a month of practice. I'm guessing final jeapordy screws him up.

Sean Connery: I know I give you a hard time, but it's all in good fun. I mean, you know that, don't you?

Alex Trebek: (pretending to know) Uhh…of course..I do..Sean. Let's see what you wagered, friend. (screen shows Connery's wager, which reveals the rest of the phrase) Trebek is such a fruit. ( Connery laughs hysterically and Trebek is disappointed).

Sean Connery: Put that in your straw and ..

Alex Trebek: Suck it, I know, suck it.

Sean Connery: Suck it! Suck it!

Alex Trebek: Suck it, yes. I hear you. Well that's it, goodbye.
