Sharks waive Walker Duehr. UPD: clears
if the Flames claim him back and they are the only team to put in a claim they can assign him directly to the wranglers. Wranglers could use the help.

Might as well claim him ONLY for the wranglers. Dont claim him to make him on the big club for the rest of the year

No risk. He's on an expiring contract as it is. Assign him to the Wranglers where he'd bolster their playoff hopes.

Injuries happen, and I thought he was always a descent call up guy. I'd also prefer him over Rooney at this point.

Wranglers need him. They are on a slide, and he is excellent at the AHL level.

My problem is they would probably keep him up and send klapka down. The reason I was glad that Duehr was picked up in the first place was he would no longer be an option for the flames.

They have to claim him for the Wrangler's option.
I don't think a Klapka vs Duehr question is all that relevant as I don't see either player getting much ice time when the Sharangovich punishment is over.

Keep Klapka up and assign Iggy as his motivational coach.

When the Flames put him on waivers in the first place, I assume the intention was for him to play on the Wranglers? Definitely makes sense for them to pursue that option again.

Do we go to the back of the line if we claim him in waiver priority?

No, waiver priority is always just the reverse standings.

There's never any line / order that gets moved around by making a claim.

He's not even valued enough to play on the Sharks rag tag NHL roster and the hopes of the Wranglers are surely not being swayed by Duehr. Pass. Let someone else down there with room to grow play in that slot.
