Glad to hear the focus is on centers.

paraphrasing - 'focus on centers at the draft; take the best player available, but if it is close, take the center'

- Interesting talk about Vladar vs Cooley.
- Conroy is stone cold about the Pelts feels, acknowledging all it was true but that he has a job to do; make the Flames better.
Just keeps reinforcing that we got the right guy in the GM chair.

I appreciate Seravalli's commentary on this one. Hopefully getting access to Conroy makes him less critical of the Flames and less of an Oilers fluffer.

I thought it was interesting that Konecny has a home in the area and helped sell the guys on coming to Calgary.
I didn't know that.

Someone mentioned before that his wife is from Calgary. Now that is a player I would love on the Flames.

With the lack of righties and Konecny being one, plus now seemingly selling Frost and Farabee on Calgary, with his own connections to the city I could see the flames pursuing him if Philly isn’t able to extend him.

Konecny signed an extension that kicks in next season ($8.75 million cap hit until 2033).
A full NMC also kicks in next season. I doubt they would want to trade him considering that they just signed him to an extension, but if they were to trade him, it would make sense to happen before that NMC kicks in. That cap hit is also pretty hefty, but not too crazy considering his age.

Drats!! Love the player but I know he loves playing in Philly, that’s a great number too with the cap increase.
