I hope Conroy has some targets to move up where necessary and has sent those GMs some room service pancakes in preparation for the day's activities!

Draft Day!
Remember: "Tij Iginla, no matter what."
Just don't let it be ONLY Tij Iginla. Sprinkle in some Ivan Demidov on-top of that.

Seeing as they’re asking for 12, phillys late first, and next years first, I don’t think our package gets close

9 is 3 ahead of 12, that in itself is probably worth a late first or better.
I'm not seeing a huge value in jumping up.
My gut tells me that the Flames are after Iginla and Canton. Maybe if they both are somehow there at 9, you could trade Jersey 28 + the highest pick we hold 10-32 next year, as it seems we are likely to have 2 picks at minimum in that range.
But burning up 3-4 assets to move from 9 to 4 doesn't seem to make sense in this draft. by all accounts there are around 8-10 guys who are really close after the top 2, and Philly is at the very end of that list, big difference between getting the one nobody else wanted, being in the middle of the pack and having your pick of the litter

But Demidov is one of the top 2.
If he falls to CBJ, I hope the Flames make an honest push to jump Montreal for him

If Demidov was a C I would agree but this team doesn't need wingers at this point. They need to start with finding a #1 C and a #1 D
I would rather keep the picks and draft 1 of the D

Legit question - if Holland is out as GM who’s acting as GM of the no goods in the draft this year? Or because he’s still under contract he’ll be there?

he might not show. I'd like to see one of Staples, Matheson, Spector or Stauffer make the pick- although i guess these aren't day one podium picks anyhow
