Goalie swap in Colorado
Manny Legace has played fantastic since returning from an injury in Colorado. The impending UFA was previously described as "The goaltender of the future in Colorado" by GM Jam26. But when contract talks with his agent broke down and it appeared Legace was anxiously looking forward to exploring other options, the goaltender became a little bit more expendable.
Heading to Nashville is Legace and D-man Sean Brown (who has spent a lot of time watching games from the press box recently due to his tendency to take penalties).
Coming to Colorado are Jocelyn Thibault, D Mike Van Ryn, prospect Alexander Suglobov and a third round pick.
"We think that Thibault still has a lot to offer," said GM Jam26. "We also improve our D and add a solid prospect in this deal. It's not easy to see Legace go, but we feel this deal makes us stronger now and in the future. We wish him all the best in Nashville."
