Feels like the Gridin spot for me.
Speed with size vs Potter.
Consistent development vs Honzek.
Super curious to see this player in preseason action.

I voted Mews because I thought his draft +1 NHLe of 31.9 was more impressive than anything any of the forwards did in their draft +1 seasons.
But my view is that we’re now into a large group of roughly equivalent prospects, which includes Mews and Morin on the blue line, and Gridin, Basha, Battaglia, Misa, Suniev and Potter at forward.
I’m just so disappointed about Honzek because of regression in NHLe over three seasons. Injuries, yes, but the development has been harmed regardless.

I guess I am not extremely familiar with Grindin's game as he is running away with this one. I would have guessed Honzek or Potter over him.

For me it's between Mews, Potter, and Gridin this time. Went with Potter.
It's wonderful having so many prospects to be excited about.

Went with Potter, I feel he has the highest upside. Full disclosure - I don't know what I am talking about.

I think everybody down on Honzek like Zary a couple years ago. I think he will be the second important guy who plays for the team after Zayne this season.

Honzek for me. Made the team last year and hoping he had a big off-season to train and actually stick this year.

Went Potter based on highest ceiling. Kid has wheels.
Gridin has been progressing nicely though.

I went with Gridin. He has a star quality to him that is unique. The other forwards in this range seem to fit in as quality players on good teams but Gridin is just a standout. He went from leading the USHL in scoring to leading a decent Q team in scoring (tied for points but p/pg it's better).
I haven't seen that much of him but he just strikes me as such a clever player too. I've got very high hopes for him. I think we'll see him on the top PP someday.

By no means am I advocating that he should win this vote (I voted Gridin) but my early favorite for the guy we look back 5 years from now and realize we had way too low - is Etienne Morin.

I usually vote off who I think has the biggest upside in the NHL over who makes it to the show first.... Potter looking so good as a 17 year old in the hardest NCAA division is pretty impressive. But I dont think there is a lot of difference between him and gridins ceiling... went with potter.

Morin was 9th in 2024 and 7th in 2023. Not sure that is way to low.

Yes, but when you compare him to the other prospects he was ranked against at the time, he's way too low. Now the organization is flush with good prospects, so a lower ranking in the top 10 or him makes sense. It didn't at those previous times.

Gridin again for me, as a high end offensive winger in the NHL. Just how much he scores is up to his development, but he's tracking to be a solid top 6 winger right now.
Next round I'll have to carefully consider between Battaglia, Morin, Potter, and Basha. I'm leaning towards Battaglia because of his style of game and progression, but I could just as easily pick any of the others if someone presents a compelling argument.
I'll also need someone to make a more compelling argument for Honzek. I don't even have him in my top 10 at the moment because he's been so up and down with his progression. I don't get why he's getting votes now when we have so many really good prospects in the system.

Had to go Honzek. I hope he makes the team and impresses this year.
