Default Zary to have hearing for hit on E.Pettersson

Just heard Friedman on a radio show confirm that Zary is to have an in-person hearing for his hit last night.

Expects a multi-game suspension..

Right. I guess my dislike for Gadzik messed up my recall.

There's no way he doesn't get at least a game for that. Was a clear Crosscheck to the side of the head.

Was a dumb and reckless penalty, you are allowed to hit people in this sport. I hate when players take penalties like that after a clean hit.

Bonehead play at a bad time. If Backlund is out he had his chance to play up the middle. Hopefully he learns from this.

And it being such an important game made it even more stupid. You need to pick your spots.

I was yelling at the TV when I saw what he was doing.

He obviously didn’t hear me.

Him and Lomberg with 2 dumb costly penalties last night. Like no need to give Quinn any PP time if you can avoid it

I don’t mind finishing your checks on him every chance you get. But cheap shots in front of the ref don’t help.

Really costly decision from Zary. With things as close as they are in the standings he can’t be doing that. This could end up being very costly for the team

He's a Flame and the NHL looooves to uphold all its rules to the letter against the Flames. So I'm guessing he gets 2 games.

I rushed through a PVR of the game later last night and didn't appreciate at the time where he actually hit Petterson.
Dumb penalty. Kadri seemed less bothered by being hit cleanly than Zary seeming him get hit. And then a cheap shot to the back of somebody's head. Dumb, dumb, dumb Zary.

What's the minimum suspension an in-person hearing signifies? Looking it up online the answers seem to vary. Or does it just mean more than a fine?

In person means 5 or more games. Not a smart penalty, Zary, but no worse than other ones that didn't get a suspension. And for a first time offender, just a bit overreacting. Not surprised.

I don't think it is in person. NHL Player Safety says the hearing is today. I assume he is not in New York right now
