Default Adopt a Family for Xmas - Looking for Options

a bit of a late start here, but looking to adopt a family in need for xmas, wondering which of you kind folks have done this before and how did you go about it? Kinsmen time frame has closed, so that option is out, and the 'Closer to Home' foundation skims 24% off the top of donations to fund other initiatives. Was more looking for a way to match with a family and get a list of wants and needs for the holidays.

any ideas?

We do this through Made by Momma, might be worthwhile to look there https://madebymomma.org/christmas/

We are doing this through YWCA in Vancouver. Maybe the Calgary locations have a similar program?

We signed up through True North Society. We're supposed to receive our family's wish list on December 1st, so maybe there's still opportunity to sign up for a family?

We’ve gone through North East Calgary Adopt A Family Society the last 2 or 3 years. They seem well organized and they give you a list of the family members and their wants and needs. I have signed up this year, but haven’t heard back from them yet, so I’m hoping they aren’t having any administrative issues.

RCSSs have trees with needs on them.

Where do you live in the city? We do this through our community association. Your community might do something similar.

https://www.hsca.ca/matching-families

After matching the size of family to your desired contribution amount, they send out a few details of the family and some wish list ideas to go shopping for.
