Obviously things are not okay, but hopefully they will be, whatever the issue.

Wow! This is horrible. I hope Miller is ok.
very unlucky timing for the canucks. He is a primary driver for them, and really in the peak of his career.

So there has been a lot of talk about him having a bad wrist injury he was trying to play through. He's been noticeably off since game three or four of this season which we had put on that injury
This is obviously much more serious than that. I hope what ever it is, he is doing okay mentally.

Wasn't he benched for the third period in the loss to Nashville?
Hope he is okay.

Hopefully he can get things sorted and be back on the ice. I love his style of play and he's one of the reasons I no longer have a deep hate for the Canucks.

They were talking about this on the radio today that Petterson's not been benched despite him being pretty awful almost all season while Miller who's been playing injured gets benched for being bad on a PK. Not sure if that has anything to do with the leave but the timing is curious. Most important is that he gets help for whatever is ailing him.

That sucks. He is a pretty emotional guy and it is obvious that he cares a lot about his team. It must be pretty serious for him to take a leave.

Same, seems like a classy guy off the ice and a fierce competitor any fanbase would love to have on their team.

Miller is that team's heart, so it's going to be a massive loss for Vancouver. My friends out in Van are saying that Miller's wife deleted her IG last night too. Also noise about JT unfollowing her, but they aren't sure if that's true.

Heard his wife deleted her social media, seems like it could be a family matter and hopefully not too serious.

It's not, she's just smart and knows how toxic social media can be at times of serious mental stress.

Postmedia understands this personal leave is not related to concerns about substance or alcohol abuse, or anything beyond his struggles to compete so far this season.
Miller has been playing through an undisclosed injury — reportedly to his upper shoulder area — and of late has obviously not been able to perform at the high level he expects of himself. He’s a player who is obsessed with beating his opponent but he’s not been able to do that.
It would seem that he was trying to hold an emotional mountain up but that mountain has come crashing down on his head.
And so now he’s taking time away from the team to get himself re-set emotionally, while also getting himself physically well.

I'm not speculating, but it reminds me of burn out. As someone who has been close to burn out for the last three years, it is something that happens to everyone, even a professional hockey player. There is pressure to perform for your team, fans, etc., as well as family duties.
If you need a break, take one. At the end of the day, your job is not that important in the grand scheme of things.

Reading what is being reported, it doesn't sound crazy.
When Miller first went to Vancouver, he i thought he was just kind of a moody person. After a while, you could see how much how much pressure he puts on himself and how much he cares about the team. Watch interviews of him after a loss even in games that are almost meaningless, and he seems devastated. He's an emotional person.
