Default Loss - 10/30/2024 - Utah defeats Calgary 5-1

Roger McQueen bucks deposited.

Rough night for pretty much everyone. I thought Wolf started to get his game together in the 3rd, but it’s a rough night no doubt.

I'm not expecting many wins this season, the start was obviously a fun little blip.

But blowout losses are not entertaining, just frustrating.

Backlund was so quiet for game 1000.

Rough game all around, onto the next one.

The good start to the season was fun but this is who the team is. Bottom 5 and sell high on some pieces that don’t fit long term. Conroy knows the assignment.

No offensive chemistry has turned into no offensive confidence.
Leaders, including the captain have to lead by example with actions and not words.
Coleman the only one up front that seems to have a GAF level above 1.

I would at least like the young guys to learn good habits while losing. The entire team is playing like a bunch of individuals trying to make things happen.

To be honest this stretch was very predictable.

Carolina, Winnipeg, Vegas was a tough stretch coming when the team had started to show the speed wobbles. And the game against Utah on the road which had some distractions (first road trip in Utah, Backs game 1000).

Fridays game against the Devils will be a good test IMO.

Back at home. Coming off their first real blowout of the season. Markstrom's return to Calgary. Tough Devils team.

Win and your record is 6-4-1 and still not a bad first month and you salvage the good start a bit. Lose and you're 5-5-1, back at .500 and you've complete erased your good start.

Let's see how they show up.

Was really hoping for high scoring losses where players like Kuzmenko, Mantha, Barrie lead the charge and get us 2nd round picks at the deadline.

Seems like we would be lucky to get them claimed on waivers at this point.

Huberdeau’s 3rd season with us.. I think I’m finally accepting there is no 115 point player in there ever again (heck even a 60 point player).

Sharky looks like a bad 5 year investment. Don’t know why we didn’t hold him for this deadline and flip him.

Expected season, but hoping the pending ufa’s can move up a notch to make the trade deadline at least fun.

You don't get a high draft pick without a bunch of losses in a season. Not a lot of fun to watch tonight that's for sure.

Let's pump the brakes here. He's played 3 games.

I predicted they would be a bottom 5 team. Yes I know there would be lots of losses. I just don’t like getting out worked by phoenix coyotes + sergachev.
