News:

@Fan960Steinberg

Kevin Rooney is “doing well” after last night, per head coach Ryan Huska.

Says he’s considered day-to-day. #Flames
Glad to hear it's not something serious.

No concussion... hopefully.

Did they say no concussion? I'm no doctor but I would be shocked if he didn't suffer one.

Yeah I don't think "no concussion" is really a diagnosis they are going to proclaim here. I would assume (and hope) he needs to complete the steps in the concussion protocol before resuming play.

Would still think they would call someone like Morton up from the minors. I think they like Zary at wing and, if it’s a 4th line center role, Morton is probably the best option right now.

Glad to hear. I just watched the replay again and still think it was a hit on a vulnerable player without the puck.

But noticed it was Mantha right down on the ice next to Rooney while Kobelka was doing his thing. Between Gordie Howe hat trick and being right down next to an injured teammate, Mantha was an absolute beauty last night.

Is JT Miller going to get anything for knocking over a linesman?

Glad to hear Rooney is doing well.

They would need to send someone down to bring Morton up. Likely just put in one of the scratches from last game.

Good that Rooney is doing well. That hit did not look good

I think there are some similarities between the Naslund hit and this one. Both Moore and Miller had no intention of playing the puck while a player was vulnerable.

Let's see if he's better than the name brand.

And everybody should wear this for the home opener:

Kirkland had a steady preseason. Not a jump off the page player, but seemed responsible.

He performs as good as Rooney, but is much cheaper. The Kirkland way.

I would've thought maybe Morton but perhaps they feel he actually should play higher up the line-up?

^ Flames Talk made a good point about Morton yesterday. (Paraphrasing) When he was sent back to the AHL, they asked him to work on certain aspects of his game. As the AHL season hadn't started, he hasn't had a chance to work on that and thus would be the exact same player they sent to the Wranglers. Calling up a vet made more sense.

Ah thanks, didn't know that part of the story. Makes sense then.
