Good to see that Bahl is potentially getting his first preseason game.

I might be mistaken but I thought that Martin Frk, Kirkland, Bishop and Aspirot had all already been waived.
I guess this kinda serves as a Wranglers pre-season game as well looking at the lineup.

With the exception of Wolf, Bahl, Bean, Miromanov, Barrie and Mantha, the rest of the players can be playing for the Wranglers this year.

Interesting to see they called up 2 guys who were demoted last week (early this week? Can't recall) in Bishop & Aspirot. Has that happened? Guys who were cut during the pre-season recalled for more pre-season?

Also I assume Wolf gets the whole game.

I like the preseason games better when its mostly prospects.
Should be fun to see who wants to make a final argument to stay.

I thought a bunch of those players were sent down to the Wranglers

waived =/= being sent down.

A play who is waiver eligible must be waived and clear PRIOR to being sent down, but it doesn't mean that they will be sent down immediately, or at all.

I thought Huby talked to the coach and asked for extra playing time

You get a 30 day window or something to be sent down before having to be waived again.

There's also a games played limit once you're waived but I can't recall what that rule is exactly.

I figured the last 2 games would be mostly starters. Guess they are either wanting one more chance to watch bubble guys. Or want to have starters as rested as possible.

Guessing a bit of both.

Yep, I remember them doing this in previous years as well. They waived Byron for roster flexibility, but he was expected to make the opening night roster. He ended up getting claimed by Montreal.

But it is odd that these are the players who get another pre-season game though, especially since they were the first ones to get waived. Might just be a sign of the fact that there are too many pre-season games and they don’t want to risk injury to others. At the same time it serves as a Wranglers pre-season as I don’t believe the Wranglers have any pre-season games

That Flames roster screams there will be cuts made after this game.
Lots of pressure on our young bubble guys this game.

I would think Zary would be in the Wolf camp in terms of likelihood? (maybe even less so I think Zary is out of waiver options not so for Wolf?)

Weird lineup, I get the calls to shorten preseason when you see how Flames are clearly just icing spares to run out the clock

The majority of this lineup will play for the Flames this season

I'll be at the game tonight with my partner. First row in the corner behind Dustin Wolf on his glove side. It'll be neat to see the kids play up close. Was hoping to see Honzek playing though.

Yeah was gonna say...

Wolf, Cooley, Bahl, Barrie*, Bean, Miro, Rooney, Pellts, Coronato, Mantha, Klapka, Zary & Duehr should lace up for Flames games this season.

13/22

Then there's a likely chance a handful of others are at least callups for a game here or there too.

All that's really missing are the top 6 and returning D.
