I believe Friday is when teams can start waiving players for assignment to the AHL.
edit: Actually might be today.

Happy Gridin is going to the Q. Recent 1st round playing pro right away is exciting but there's obviously a lot to learn and nothing wrong with two years of junior.

Early indicators from the ‘24 draft are Conroy and co nailed it. Basha and Gridin look like players. Can’t wait to see the numbers they put up in junior. The future is bright with a couple more drafts like this.

Liked what I have seen so far from Basha and Gridin. Will definitely follow them closely as they play in Major Junior this season.

Gridin looked like he could play pro but also potentially a log jam in the AHL at wing already.

Gridin and Basha already play years older than they are. Barring injuries they should be really dominant this year on both ends of the rink.

Very excited to see the Flames' lines with these groups.
Its a little difficult to figure things out, but the below groups could mean we see Kadri, Backlund, Pospisil and Zary at centre. (I've just listed the lines in order based on the order of the groups.)
Sharangovich - Kadri - Kuzmenko
Huberdeau - Pospisil/Rooney - Lomberg/Pospisil
Coleman - Backlund - Coronato/Mantha
Pelletier - Zary - Mantha/Coronato/Duehr
Weegar - Miromanov
Bean - Andersson
? - Barrie
? - Pachal
Group A
NHL Cs: Kadri, Pospisil, Rooney
NHL Ws: Huberdeau, Kuzmenko, Lomberg, Sharangovich
NHL LDs: Weegar, ?
NHL RDs: Miromanov, Pachal
Group B
NHL Cs: Backlund
NHL Ws: Coleman, Coronato, Duehr, Mantha, Pelletier, Zary
NHL LDs: Bean, ?
NHL RDs: Andersson, Barrie
*Bahl not listed
Group C
None.

I agree. He absolutely looked pro ready to me, but the Wranglers will be a very young team as it is, and only so many prime development spots are available.
I don't love that he is playing in the Q, but it is what it is.

Really impressed with Basha. Great quickness, awareness and hockey sense. Raw still but there is tonnes of talent there and I like his competitiveness. Hopefully he continues to progress in his development.

Anyone know of a camp schedule for tomorrow? Kid is off school and would take him down if there's anything happening that's open to the public.

Basha playing with Bedards cousin will only help him be better. He's going to absolutely dominate and craft his game further.
I wish we could get our mitts on Gavin

I kind of feel bad for Rory Kerins as it seems he has been a complete afterthought for this organization since turning pro.
That's back to back years the organization hasn't even allowed him the chance to skate in a preseason game despite being sixth in scoring on the AHL team, and signed to an ELC. He was also scratched in the playoffs in favor of players with zero future with the organization. Must be frustrating for the kid.

If he isn't good enough, he isn't good enough. That's on him and not the team.

there have been fitness issues in the past. Cull said that Kerins spent the first part of last season getting in shape
