This could be a great thing, or it could be disasterous! If the US and Russia work in concert, then this is awesome news. If they work independently, and are allowed to follow their own agendas, then this could be extremely dangerous. I woud hope that the UN (I know this will raise some cockles) puts together an International Terrorism Task force, using US and Russia as the primary cooperative forces, and gives them free reign to shut down terrorist cells where ever they are. This would be a massive step forward and would probably help stabalize a potentially dangerous situation.

uh i thought the russians have been 'pre-emptively' dealing with chechnya since like 1996.

isn't that their problem?
