Caps Begin a New Legace
The hottest team in the CPHL made a move Wed afternoon to improve their goaltending. The team acquired Goalie Manny Legace, 3rd line winger Chris Clark and two 4th round draft picks in exchange for the on-fire of late John Grahame, PKer supremo Peter Schaefer and a 2nd round draft pick.
Fans could be up in arms as Grahame was instrumental in bringing the caps out of embarassment and Scheafer was an unsung hero on the team. On the flip-side, many analysts agree that Legace is a more consistent goaltender and has more experience. The under-rated Chris Clark will help soften the loss of Peter Schaefer with his grit and his ability to pop in the occasional goal. With two first round draft picks this year, the Caps were able to live without their 2nd round pick.
Both players will suit up this Friday against the Vancouver Canucks. Mattias Weinhandl and Clark will be asked to pick up the slack on the PK now that the CAps number 1PK Schaeffer is gone.
