Went with Laing. A fresh 18 year old 2024 draft pick has by far the most runway of the guys left.

Okhotiuk is my last player of intrigue after that. If for no other reason than I like having a "Russian what if" player to occasionally google. Rafikov was that guy for a while but he's aged out. Better to have Okhotiuk developing and/or floundering in the KHL. He only signed for 2 years with CSKA. Who knows...

Nikolaev is the last guy actually under contract and playing in the organization. A catastrophic string of injuries might find him called up. Otherwise, I'll take Laing.

Went with Hunter Laing. All I know is that Iginla likes him, and Iginla has been around a lot of junior players.

Hunter Laing will most likely end up as one of these:
1) Hunter Smith
2) Wayne Primeau
3) Keith Primeau

I won't even begin to guess at this guy's ceiling as I have barely watched anything on this kid. This is a vote for Iginla's eye for talent more than anything, so welcome to Calgary Keith Primeau!

Laing profiles like Tyler Graovac at present. Graovac was a good AHL player before landing in Europe (including a 50 point season with Stockton). He also played 84 NHL games (including 52 in one season).

Graovac actually didn't progress much in his D1 either, so you never know. If Laing has a big year...
