Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2024 - Round 21
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to mid to late August
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

going to keep going Zarubin. goalies are of course not straightforward but the right answer here surely is one of the goalies, and I dunno he was just taken 2 rounds in front of the #16 prospect so he gets my vote
probably pivoting to Bell once I get my goalie itch scratched

Sergeev if I'm picking a goalie, which I am. Zarubin had a very nice year last year, but really wasn't very good before that. Sergeev has done pretty well at a high level, and shown consistent progression since his draft.

Definitely don't want to vote goalie, so is it Jurmo time? Kerins? Schwindt? Morton? Okhotiuk?

Pretty much copy and paste lol:
Zarubin.
(Probably doing this for a while; some goalie guys thought he was the best netminder in the draft fwiw)
*Kind of a cool side note, as I mention goalies - Flames Director of Goaltending, Jordan Sigalet, just gave us (@UpsideHockey) a follow on Twitter fwiw*

Looks like it might the first round where it wasn't just a one or two horse race.
Four guys neck and neck early on.

Seems there's always some prospect ranked in the early 20s that eventually ends up making the team.

Some of these goalies have to get picked sooner rather than later, but still sticking with Bell right now. Just too many tools.

Because the rankings skew high skill versus fourth line type prospects, but the most common openings are on the 4th line.

Not too long ago (2 years) a publication ranked top drafted college prospects. Coronato was 8th. Sergeev was ranked higher (5th, iirc)

I think Bell might end up being one of those prospects that one day makes people wonder why he wasn't ranked higher by fans. I have had him under consideration for the past 5 rounds now.
It's really hard to decide at this point. I went with Zarubin though.

Bell is being criminally underrated, IMO. 33 goals and 64 points on a team as bad as Tri-City is a big accomplishment, and he's 6'4"with excellent speed. I think he should have been on the list long ago.
