Flames My apologies for my bad post

Hello Calgary puck forum,

I’m writing to you in regards to a post I made back on ~June 24 before game 7 between Edmonton and Florida for Stanley cup. https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=196319

After a month of hard reflection and support from friends outside the Calgary puck forum, I want to make a proper apology for that post.

At the time of the post, I was undergoing personal turmoil in my life (a recent breakup with my girlfriend, constant fighting with my parents regarding my future, also a recent trip to the hospital because of a bad stomach). It didn’t help that the Stanley cup finals was stressful to watch as well.

However, this doesn’t excuse the words I said on that day. I realize that at the end of the day, it’s just a sport. I can still have passion for it, but I shouldn’t be emotionally toxic about it.

So I want to say sorry and I hope that this community can welcome me back with open arms. I’m not leaving this forum. I’m still a flames fan. But I want to be a better person when it comes to being mature and in control with my emotions. I hope you [all] understand.

All good bro! Gotta hold a firm line on the E=NG and that really goes for every single poster here, yes that includes you Stang and Oilstain.

You were one of many so don't worry about it.

I was in that turmoil boat with ya. Thankfully never lost faith in E=NG though, even though my faith in a lot of other stuff was rattled. It is law!

Hopefully we're on the other side of the personal life ####storm that exacerbated everything in that cinderella run including any more runs like it.

It was a satisfying result in the end to begin to rectify a tumultuous period of time. I quietly relished the embarrassment of the turn coats who slid back into their shells after the "for canada" nonsense.

I'm in no position to criticize you.

We've all said really dumb things at some point or another. We're all human.

I get it. I've been a Flames fan since they won the cup in the Montreal forum. It's not easy to be a Flames fan with years of mediocrity. In the past, I'd get stressed out and upset about the Flames until a few years ago. I realized it is just a game, and whatever happens, is out of my control. There is way more to life then sports. We all learn to grow and get better over time, and this is just your time.

At least you're not MY cousin Vinny.

I kid. At least upon reflection you've changed your mind.

A lot of CPers have had their five minutes of damn foolishness here on the board, myself included. No worries.

If you can bounce back from feeling that low about the flames and stick with it, you're probably in it for the long haul. I think most people on here aren't casual fans and have experienced feeling losses a little too hard at one time or another. Find something else to distract yourself when taking more away from you than it's giving.

The Oilers tend to have that effect on people.

Seven hail mary’s and a dozen I hate the Oilers and all is forgiven.
