This would have been a great deal for the Flames. Hayes is a decent warm body and a 2nd for nothing

I assume most of the draft at this point is being run by scouts while GMs are busy wheeling and dealing.

Hopefully flames can get on some of these. We might need to get to the cap floor.

This is going to be the problem with trying to weaponize cap space. Most players who are potential cap dumps (over 28, fat contracts) also have NTCs.

Yes, but most guys that are in 'cap dump' territory are pretty open to a fresh start. And the ice time that they can get with a rebuilder
