Icon30 FLA will re-sign Reinhart and Verhaghe (old news)

As per Strickland:

Sounding like the Panthers will be able to come to terms with Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe. Reinhart likely gets a max deal just under Barkov ($10m) and Tkachuk ($9.5) #TimeToHunt

Assume that means Ekblad is gone, and Tarasenko too. According to capfriendly, FLA has under 20 mil in cap space and this would presumably take up most of that. Lot of roster players are free agents, too.

Tarasenko would be a great UFA signing - wouldn't require much term, and would be as easy deadline flip

FLA didn't pay much for him this year. His family lives in Miami, and he was only willing to go there. That complicates things IMO.

Arvidsson is my ideal flip candidate.

PS: I always liked Tarasenko as a player, and would love to see him here on a 1-2 year contract.

If not Florida, I think Tarasenko goes back to Ottawa. He is close with the Tkachuk family, which is why he signed with Ottawa to begin with. Assuming they can sort out any cap implications.

If you were Tarasenko, would you sign a one year deal with Calgary, presumably with no no trade protection, just so you can be flipped at the deadline?

Money might be good, but it’s not likely a place that will allow his offense to flourish.

Actually it would be a place where his offense could flourish - top line, top PP

As for the first part, money talks

Doubt it.

Maybe if they move Ekblad but something has to give.

Even if they move Ekblad, someone is going to pay Montour a lot of money.

Serious question what would be the ask for Florida to give up Ekblad?

I suggested moving Ekblad near the beginning of the season, but as I watched throughout the year it became obvious that Florida really misses him when he's not dressed.

The alert I received said that Montour will go to UFA.
