I know the guy is a bit controversial, but as a lifelong fan i'm so happy to hear that Roenick is getting the nod finally.
I had the pleasure of meeting him, and playing against him, at the Gordie Howe Cares tournament last may as well and he was such a nice and fun guy to be around. Made meeting one of my "heroes" a great experience.
Good for him

3 awesome players. No complaints about any of them getting into the Hall.
I guess one controversial thing is that Weber is still technically under contract and therefore not really retired

Shea Weber? Good player, but HOF worthy?

Campbell is a bit of a questionable pick, no?
Otherwise, I like it. I've always liked David Poile, so happy to see him get the nod. Datsyuk is a no-brainer and I think Roenick and Weber deserve to be there as well.

He deserves it solely on his Olympic goal he put THROUGH the net. Good enough for me.

Roenick over Mogilny is mind-boggling.

sorry i'm not seeing the controversy on this one. Roenick deserves to get in ahead of mogilny. Yes Moginly was over a point per game and Roenick was not, but to me longevity and impact work in Roenick's favour
Personally i think they should both be in

he's an interesting case. looking at him a little bit 2x first time all star and 2x second time all star- that's actually a bar that I would guess is mostly met by hall of famers (in isolation of course that is not enough but its a reflection of where he sat amongst his position over the years) and probably thats a fair reflection that there was a significant number of years where he was viewed amongst the top 3-5 D in the league
John Leclair has the most post season all star selections not in the Hall (and I don't think anyone really thinks he is one) at 5 and I'm not sure how many are at 4, one of my childhood favorites Rick Martin is at 4. but both Leclair and Martin played a less critical position and were bolstered by a HOF centerman

The fact that Mogilny keeps getting snubbed is frankly an embarrassment.

That's where I'm at as well. Really good player, obviously. No Norris, no Cup. All Star selection, Olympic teams. Not a slam dunk choice, imo, but not horrible either. I'm on the fence with his selection. He was really good for many years bit I think the HHOF should have a higher bar than that.

Colin Campbell for what?
For the builder category for his contributions to the NHL Disciplinary Committee?

Sure, but Roenick played in the NHL at 18, while Mogilny had to defect to get here from Russia. And Roenick's last 4 seasons, he played 239 games and had a grand total of 86 points. That takes care of 336 of the the 373 more games he played.
Roenick, iirc, has no awards or all-star nods. MOgilny tied for the lead league in goals before the Richard came along, was a two-time all-star, and won the Lady Byng.
i have no problem if people think Roenick deserves to be in (although personally I don't), but above Mogilny?

He is in the HOF because he managed to still get paid 3 years after he last picked up a hockey stick...

Roenick is not a good pick. Although he had a short but spectacular prime, he did not win any individual awards, did not make any first or second All-Star teams, had only five point-per-game seasons (with all but one occurring before the Dead Puck Era), and did not win any cups.
Hall of very good, but not a HHOF selection
