Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2024 - Round 2
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to mid to late August
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Wolf and Corontato is a coin flip for me. Despite Wolf being successful at every level, I still feel his path to being a long term NHL player is a little more difficult than Coronato's.

Poll should get interesting after the top 3, maybe 4 if someone surprises to take the 3rd spot.

Wolf, with a combination of a consistent track record and the potential to be a game changer
After Wolf, the next 10 or so are going to be really interesting

I have my concerns (not doubts) about his height and NHL shooters, but his track record in the AHL is surreal and deserves to be rated high based on his impact / core potential.

My only worry with wolf is that he will get eaten alive behind a bottom 5 team.

Went Coronota.
Until Wolf can establish himself at this level, I remain skeptical.
It's nothing against Wolf; it's such a tough position to establish yourself in at the NHL level, and it could be 3-4 years before he really becomes a different maker, whereas I think Coronato could pop this season.

My thinking exactly but went with all the consonants instead as my choice....his confidence is really something that will help him...and as soon as this year IMO.

I have this as my breakdown of prospects into tiers:
Blue Chip (No doubt NHLer with high likelihood of being a star player)
Parekh
A level (High likelihood of NHL career, possibility of being a star player)
Wolf
Coronato
Brzustewicz
Morin
A- Level (possibility of NHL career and possibility of being a star player)
Poirier
Honzek
Suniev
Stromgren
Basha
Gridin
Mews
Misa
Sergeev
B+ level (high likelihood of NHL career but low possibility of being a star player)
Pelletier
Grushnikov
Kuznetsov
Solovyov
Lipinski
Yegorov
After that, I don't much care to worry about rankings because that's roughly my top 20.

Went with Wolf, but thought about Hunter and Coronato at this spot too.

Went Wolf, but their are concerns there. I think Bingo is right that there will be questions on his body type until he can prove it. I know in the Wranglers playoff games, I thought some of the goals could have a naysayer give you a sideways look.

Went with Wolf, but agree with anyone mentioning being skeptical. Nothing against him or his abilities, just the nature of the position

I’m not sure how I feel about wolf but at this point it’s hard to deny he’s a top prospect. Until such time that he proves he’s not an nhl goaltender, he’s #2 for me.
