Yeah the six forwards should be Johnny, Monahan, Iginla, Tkachuk, Backlund, and Lindholm. Only one I can see changing is Elias but they haven't really had anyone else of note play RW for any length of time.

Yeah, that's pretty much a no brainer first team.
Second:
F: Tkachuk, Backlund, Hudler
D: Andersson, Brodie
G: Markstrom

For 2nd team, that Marc Savard guy was pretty good. I'd go Conroy though, for 2nd line C.

They don't usually fuss about wings on these lists. I went with Hudler over Elias though.

You can't ignore Backlund's longevity here, plus his defensive prowess.

I like Monahan a lot but I think Backlund has contributed more as a Flames C. Monahan’s got more talent, peaked higher, and was undone by injuries mostly outside of his control, but Backlund has been more impactful to me.

And #1 RD it has to be Hamilton, as much as he didn't fit in.
2nd line RD would be Brodie IMO.

Offense is so overvalued by people. In order to win, you need to allow fewer goals than the other team. Considering who will be populating all the other rosters I would have Backlund and Conroy on my team.

But you can only have two centres. You'd have both those guys over Monahan?

You’re going with Monahan against Sakic, Yzerman, Crosby, MacKinnon, etc.?
Yes. Play to your strengths. There’s no way Jiri Hudler is going to scare what other teams are going to be able to throw out there.

Not a lot of arguments, a few quibbles here and there on the second team.
Might be fun to pick a third team.

I love Wolf, but he has played 37 games for the Flames. Markstrom, for all his struggles in the 2022 playoffs and the 22-23 season, still had a season that saw him as a Vezina finalist and two more solid seasons for the Flames. Choosing Wolf over him makes little sense at this point and is 100% borne out of bitterness and recency bias.
