And of course, Pat Robertson invokes his unique "Christian" perspective on things.... "He was dividing God's land, and I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the [European Union], the United Nations or the United States of America,'" Robertson told viewers of his long-running television show, "The 700 Club."
"God says, 'This land belongs to me, and you'd better leave it alone,'" he said.

Kind of disturbing to think 1 million people look up to this guy every day.

Yep.
Unfortunately there are dozens of other nutballs who get the same following or more.

Pretty risky for old Pat to be bringing up this kind of stuff at 75 years old. It's not really the time to start pointing fingers about what other old coots have done to deserve punishment from god when you are nearing the front of the line yourself.
My guess is that it'll be the whole "charlatan" thing that will get him in the end.

. . . . . and you can hear Pat Robertson muttering to himself: "Next, Pennsylvania!!!"
For a public figure, he has to be one of America's most hate-filled men of the last 30 years.

Whether he dies or not, I think it's safe to say that his political career is over.
Whether people disliked him or liked him, he sure leaves a huge vaccuum in Israeli politics.

Isreali doctors may have committed a fatal error in treating Ariel Sharon . .
Surprisingly, as I'm reading all this in this story, it sounds exactly what happened to my father, including the treatment, the stroke, the clot, treating the clot with a blood thinner, another stroke, unstoppable hemorraging in the brain because of the blood thinner . . . . and a vegetative state.

However, another version at CBS:

An examination of the impact of Sharon's illness by Fareed Zhakaria of Newsweek . . . . always a good read.
