Default Site-blocking to be increased for next season of various live sports (incl NHL)

Per CARTT:

Mario etc may be harder to use (or may be impossibe, even with VPN assistance). Hard to know at this juncture, but the Courts in Canada seem to have abandoned all restrictions on censorship in the name of making the #BigTelecoms stay rich - at our expense, of course.

I love sailing the high seas as much as anyone but you can't really fault them for doing this. Tough to say we deserve to watch sports for free because of the Oligopoly in Canadian broadcasting.

The affidavit evidence from employees of the applicants also shows that they have invested very substantial financial resources to obtain the rights to broadcast live NHL, NBA and Premier League games in Canada and to produce associated programming

I have nothing against paying for a legitimate stream for NHL games, but as it stands not Sportsnet does not offer a service that works as well as my pirated site of preference.

I send them an email every year explaining that once the quality and reliability of their service is as good as the one I can get easily for free I wont pay for it.

Why would I pay for a bigger hassle?

I don't look at it as watching it for free seeing as I'm already paying for Sportsnet. I'm just getting games I should already be able to watch if it wasn't for stupid blackout restrictions.
