With the way the schedule falls it's actually not surprising.
Only 3 NHL games tonight.
Then 10 tomorrow, 5 Friday, 13 on Saturday, and 6 on Sunday I think.
So if these teams want to get guys into their lineups and available for the games over the weekend today is the day to make deals.

Took Walker on as a bit of a cap dump as part of the Provorov trade.
And now are getting a 1st for him it appears.
Which will forever now be compared to the return the Flames got for Tanev.

So the idea that Hanifin won't return a 1st as a pure rental are also out to lunch if Sean Walker can get a 1st as a pure rental.
