Not sure how I feel about this.
Does make it feel like futures are not what the team is asking for, but younger players to try to remain competitive in the short term.

It seems obvious to me that this was always the plan, and people who were pining for a rebuild were only fooling themselves. The message has been pretty clear since Conroy took the job:
· he thinks the team is competitive
· he wants players who want to be here
· he won't go into the season with uncertainty about the commitment of pending UFAs to the team.
