How’s he been doing with the wranglers? Is he being called up for 4th line centre?

Wow its like they have a goal to call up every Wrangler this season for at least one game. Such a complete reverse of course from last years approach.

Schwindt hasn't shown a lot, in the few times he has gotten some ice time with the team, but he is a better 4th line C option than Ruzicka, IMO.
Either Ruzicka earns a top 9 role (unlikely IMO), or he shouldn't be dressed.

Guess they need to see how he can play at this level. Good. Find out early.

Pretty obvious what role Schwindt is not, and that is great for us. Younger/cheaper/energetic/NHL ready 4th liners is the way to run a team. Hopefully we do more of this.
Hope he carves out his role.

Conroy calls Schwindt:
"Okay Cole, it's on you to turn the FLA trade into a W, so just have fun out there, you know"

Responsible two way forward. Don't expect goals for, don't expect goals against.

This is a pretty big deal IMO. The Flames don't win near enough faceoffs.
The Flames are clearly trying guys out to see what the team looks like post TDL. If Schwindt can stick, if Coronato can improve, and when Pelletier and Pospisil are back, this is a young team at forward. Post TDL you could be looking at:
Huberdeau-Kadri-Sharangovich
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Pospisil-Zary-Coronato
Pelletier-Schwindt/Ruzicka-Klapka/Greer
Andersson-Weegar
Kylington-who knows

Breath of fresh air.
Can’t know what you have unless you give them some time.

Between Lindholm and Backlund, that's 2/3 of all of the faceoffs taken for the team this year.
lindholm is 56%
Backlund is 52%
No complaints to be made in faceoff wins.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Sort of related - When Lindholm is gone, as crazy as this sounds, I'd expect to see Ruzicka given a shot at the 1L

Conroy wasn't joking when he said he would be giving the kids a chance to play.
Love the approach!

The Flames are 11th in the NHL with a 51.3% faceoff percentage.
Pittsburgh is best at 55.2%

I think there's a decent chance we'll be getting some players back like R. Johansen, N. Schmidt, or even Debrusk/Grzelcyk/Forbort to make the money work and increase the trade value.
That said, I would like to see what Pettersen and Jones look like on the 4th line as well. Some competition would be good for everyone.
