Default Flames 3 Coyotes 2 (OT)

Flames 3 Coyotes 2 (OT)

- Flames score two straight in third to tie (Coleman and Kadri)
- Sharangovich with winner in OT
- Vladar solid in win
- Flames with four in a row
- Now two points out, even games

Gotta take the hit here and say I sure didn't see this coming from the current group wearing the Flaming C.

Their resilience is damn impressive even if the talent level isnt where it needs to be.

Winning sure is more fun than the alternative and having meaningful games heading into February and March sure makes this a lot more interesting.

Really curious to see what, if anything, they do with Vladar heading into TDL.

Toronto game is huge in my mind. A win really sets up a major battle for Saturday night and gives a glimpse of how this team plays with a bit of pressure.

It would be the most fun game in a while.

I wouldn’t say the Kings and Preds are in good shape. Especially the Kings. They are dropping like a rock.

I’d say the Flames, Preds, Blues, Kraken, Coyotes and Kings are all roughly even and fighting for the two wildcard spots. I think the Flames have a good shot as they have a lot of home games left and games against SJ, Anahiem and Chicago. They haven’t played a lot of the bottom feeders. Although they tend to lose those games.

I think it’ll come down to the last week.

Flames are on a heater too ... and like the opposite (when their numbers suggest they should be better) it's likely do for a correction.

The Flames are 6-2-0 in January with the 19th best expected goal splits in all situations. They're +9 in goals over expected for, and -6 in goals against over expected with the 5th ranked all situations PDO.
